Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Our HR Assistants are essential to the support of our human resources and operational staff. This role is responsible for providing administrative support across several human resource functions including employee data management, employee relations, benefits, staffing and, talent development, performance programs, policy compliance and communications. This position will be able to participate and observe all activities that occur in a HR department that is inclusive of employee relations, employee on-boarding, benefits and payroll.

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

EXPERIENCE: Entry Level, Professional

STATUS: Full Time

SHIFT: M-F Day shift; 8:00AM - 4:30PM

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers incoming phone calls regarding routine benefit, payroll, recruitment, or general questions
  • Maintain all documents in electronic file system
  • Prepare performance review reports for annual reviews and updates system for next review of employees
  • Prepares, reviews, and communicates License & Certification expirations to Operations
  • Manages the termination process for all personnel files within the electronic file system
  • Communicates with Department and HR Manager through 1st Grievance process
  • Participates in General Orientation Presentation
  • Responsible for documenting minutes in Labor Management Meeting
  • Provides front desk reception coverage when needed
  • Back up with On-Boarding Coordinator

ATTRIBUTES OF SUCCESSFUL HR ASSISTANTS:

  • Strong knowledge of HR business processes and applicable laws
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing, and high priority projects with varying deadlines
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement
  • Absolute confidentiality skills
  • Proficiency in developing reports to meet the needs of the Human Resources department as as the business
  • Ability to present various aspects of Human Resources to business and employees
  • Ability to identify system impact for small and large scale initiatives
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
